Starship utilises REDCap for electronic data collection and EDGE as a clinical trial management system.

REDCap

REDCap is a secure web platform for electronic data collection and surveys. REDCap allows efficient creation and design of projects that can be tailored to virtually any data collection strategy.

REDCap provides automated export procedures for seamless data downloads to Excel and common statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, Stata, R), as well as a built-in project calendar, a scheduling module, ad hoc reporting tools, and advanced features, such as branching logic, file uploading, and calculated fields. If you are collecting data for the purposes of human participant research, review and approval of the project is required by your ethics committee.

How do I access REDCap?

How do I log in to REDCap?

  • To log in to REDCap, you must have an Auckland DHB network account. To set up your access follow the steps in the REDCap Registration Instructions.

  • External users outside this network must be added by the Database Manager.

How do I create a project?

Only a superuser/Database Manager can create new projects. If you require a new project to be created contact the Starship Database Manager.
