The New Zealand Paediatric Palliative Care Clinical Network with the support of the Ministry of Health have developed a set of guidelines for end-of life care, which can be accessed here.

As part of the guideline development, you can read about the background to the Clinical Guidelines Project, which introduces the components of the final report and briefly summarises key principles of palliative care delivery and the policy context. A care framework, which was developed as a component of this project, sets out a three-stage palliative care continuum. For each stage, criteria for entry, key features and key interventions are provided.  Read the full background document here....

An introduction to the guidelines summarises the clinical guideline rationale, purpose, target audience and target population. Read the full introductory document here...

The development methodology  is the third document that forms the background to the guideline development. It covers the methodology and information about the ADAPTE development instrument. Read the full development methodology document here...
