The Douglas Starship Simulation Programme was established in 2010 and provides simulation education, training and resource both locally to the Starship Children‘s Hospital and wider Aotearoa/New Zealand Paediatric services through an outreach programme. We are a multidisciplinary team with a background in acute paediatric clinical care and a passion for improving clinical care for our tamariki/children and whānau/families.

In 2018 the Douglas Charitable trust established an endowment fund to enable the Starship Simulation Programme to further develop and enhance the current programme. In particular this has supported the increased outreach and development of simulation based training for whānau.
