CT - Head, Stealth and Anatomics XCARE

Anatomics alter reconstructions to-
Head - 1.0 @ 0.8 Bone and ST reconstructions
Facial for bone structures use Sinus Stealth Xcare protocol and - 0.5 @ 0.4 Bone reconstructions
Burn CD, fill in anatomics info sheet and send to requesting nurse specialist @MMH

Quality reference mAs can be lowered to 220 mAs when images are required for shunt revision stealth surgery

Indication For head reconstructions, shunt insertions/replacements as requested by Neurosurgeons or Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons
Patient Preparation 4 hours nil by mouth if IV contrast required
Patient Position - patient supine in headrest
- head on foam pad with no side pads
- nothing touching ears
- OM baseline
- perpendicular to the table
Scan Area Head - Scan below the hard palate, including the whole upper lip, to just above the head. FOV to include tip of the nose, the ears and the top of the head.
