National Travel Assistance
The National Travel Assistance Scheme provides financial assistance to people who are referred by their specialist to another specialist and need to travel long distances or travel frequently.
If your local specialist (not your doctor or GP) has referred your child to a specialist at Starship, you may be entitled to financial assistance towards your travel and, possibly, your accommodation costs. Your specialist will need to approve accommodation and any specialised transport needs.
Transport and accommodation assistance relates to the patient (child) and one support person (a parent or caregiver).
