A Hui for Kaimahi, by Kaimahi

Hui | Talanoa is a space created to uplift the mahi of those who work closely with whānau. Together, we’ll explore how to have safe, supportive, and mana-enhancing conversations about home safety - especially with Māori and Pacific whānau.

This free event brings kaimahi, community leaders, and organisations together to share knowledge, build connections, and learn practical tools for engaging whānau on important child injury prevention topics such as burns, poisoning, falls, and choking.

What to Expect

Hui | Talanoa is designed as an interactive and reciprocal kōrero. Rather than a traditional workshop, it’s a space where national insights meet local wisdom, ensuring that what is shared is meaningful to the communities we serve.

Through the lens of Pae Ora, you’ll engage in conversations that strengthen your ability to connect with whānau:

  • Mauri Ora: Breathing life into every interaction with whānau

  • Whānau Ora: Recognising and respecting the wealth of knowledge and practices whānau hold

  • Wai Ora: Understanding the environments that shape whānau wellbeing

Who Should Attend?

This hui is open to any kaimahi who engage with whānau - whether in health, education, social services, or community roles. It’s also an opportunity to connect with others working in the injury prevention space.

Why Attend?

By joining us, you’ll not only gain new tools and perspectives but also contribute to a collective movement that ensures every interaction with whānau is mana enhancing, especially within their own whare.
