The Green Lane Paediatric and Congenital Cardiac Service is a national service based at Starship Children’s Hospital. It is the sole provider of cardiology and cardiac surgical services for infants and children with congenital and acquired heart disease in New Zealand and includes the national fetal cardiology service as well as being the national treatment centre for adult congenital heart disease surgery.

We have an outstanding opportunity for either a senior surgeon to lead the service into the future, or a mid-career surgeon to be part of the team with the potential for a leadership role in the future.

Proven expertise in neonatal cardiac surgery with experience across the entire spectrum of congenital cardiac surgery, including adult congenital, transplantation and mechanical support is essential for this role.

The department is actively involved in clinical research and audit including national and international collaborative projects and there are exciting opportunities in this area.
