Ruby's Tea Towel
Start your day with Ruby's Kiwi Breakfast Bowl for Starship
Ruby Seeto has released her latest design in the Ruby’s Tea Towels series which raises funds for our national children’s hospital. Bright, bold, delicious and nutritious it’s called Kiwi Breakfast Bowl for Starship.
The talented 22 year old has already raised more than half a million dollars in a long-running collaboration with New Zealand’s Wallace Cotton linen brand, inspired to give back because of her personal experience at Starship. Ruby’s Kiwi Breakfast Bowl design, on sale from 5 August, is set to grow that incredible tally and do even more to bring better health and brighter futures to Starship children.
As a grateful past patient, this cancer survivor chooses to fund priority projects at Starship, which are close to her heart. $6 per tea towel and $4 per wash cloth will be donated to the Starship Foundation and proceeds raised from the Kiwi Breakfast Bowl for Starship design will go towards the purchase of a four screen digital wall as part of a transformative refurbishment underway within Starship’s Day Stay Unit. The digital wall will enhance the space providing entertainment and information to children and families as they wait for their surgeries or treatment.
Ruby says, “When I was a patient, I remember feeling anxious and nervous about what was going to happen, while waiting for treatment in the Day Stay Unit. The installation of a digital wall will provide a welcome distraction and make a world of difference for children and their families at a potentially scary time.”
Paula Wallace from Wallace Cotton says, “Our customers love Ruby’s tea towels and look forward to them each year. We are excited to be able help her bring this latest design to life for this wonderful cause.”
Generating more than $500,000 for Starship since Ruby’s Tea Towels started, this wonderful initiative has helped make great things possible at Starship including improvements to the oncology, medical specialities and neurology wards, funding the establishment of an ovarian cryopreservation banking protocol to benefit young cancer patients, and more recently co-funding a new Phlebotomy Laboratory.
Kiwi Breakfast Bowl for Starship is available as a tea towel and wash cloth, and goes on sale from 5 August.
