In an Emergency

The number to call in an emergency is 111.

If this is not an emergency but your child is unwell and you would like telephone advice, you can phone healthline on 0800 611 116 any time day or night and talk to a registered nurse. This service is free to callers throughout New Zealand, including from a mobile phone.

In case of poisoning, you can phone the poisoning helpline on 0800 POISON (0800 764 766).

If it is during daytime hours, your local doctor (GP) may be able to see your child.

There are also a number of private after-hours accident and medical clinics. Click on  after hours gpto find an after-hours healthcare provider near you.
