We are looking for an experienced Echo Sonographer to join our talented team with our Paediatric Congenital and Cardiac Services at Starship which is the only service of its kind in New Zealand. This is a full time role.

Starship Children’s Hospital is the leading provider of paediatric care in New Zealand and the South Pacific, providing world-class inpatient, outpatient, trauma, emergency, and urgent care to children and their whānau (family). Starship is part of Auckland District Health Board, New Zealand’s largest tertiary healthcare provider.

In the position you will predominantly perform transthoracic echocardiograms (2D and 3D) on paediatric and adult congenital patients with potential involvement in cath lab and perioperative 2D/3D transoesophegeal echo. Our Paediatric Echo Lab is a fully digital lab with 3D TTE/TOE and Strain quantification capabilities providing a service for the cardiac and general wards at Starship and neonatal echocardiography for National Women's Health. Opportunities also exist for you to attend outreach clinics within New Zealand and the Pacific.

As the ideal candidate for this role you will:

  • be an experienced Echo Sonographer and will either have or be eligible for registration with NZ

  • have a strong commitment to quality healthcare

  • be capable of working independently and within a team.

  • have well-developed communication, critical thinking skills and a commitment to family centred care

  • have a passion for paediatrics with some experience in paediatric sonography preferably within the New Zealand Health system
