Community based, Monday – Friday position
Permanent, Part time or Full Time (with minimum 0.8 FTE) available
Starship Community provides interdisciplinary care and cultural support to children, young people and their families living within the Auckland DHB area. The service has three locality based community teams, a central team and a hearing and ear health team. Our nursing, allied health and technical staff are responsible for delivering health care services to children, young people, their families and whānau in their home, school and community settings.
Our school-based Immunisation Programme delivers year 7 and 8 vaccinations to students within Auckland District Health Board’s catchment area.
This is a pivotal role that will:
Lead the planning, scheduling and coordination of the School Based Vaccination Programme
Manage quality and process improvement
Collate and report on the immunisation data
Plan and implement immunisation education and training in collaboration with the nurse educator
Oversee the support staff involved with the vaccination programme
Represent the Auckland DHB at appropriate meetings and liaise with key stakeholders
We are looking for a natural leader with a strong interest in health, strong administrative and organisational skills, including excellent time management.
Ideally this opportunity would suit a candidate with a background in health services, passion for quality improvement and processes. As an Immunisation Coordinator, you will work closely with Starship Community Nurses, Community Health Workers and Administrators. As part of the Starship Community Clinical Leadership team you will work with Planning and Funding and the Ministry of Health to deliver a high performing programme that meets Ministry of Health immunisation standards.
