Auckland is a challenging and rewarding environment in which to practice Paediatric Emergency Medicine as we see a broad range of childhood illnesses and injuries. The Children's Emergency Department is located in a purpose built facility with state of the art equipment and is staffed by a great team of health professionals. There are excellent opportunities to be involved in research, quality improvement projects and teaching, including high fidelity simulation training.
We have a 10 month fellowship available with our Children’s ED Service based at Starship Hospital starting in May 2020.
This position is most suitable for a Senior Registrar who is coming to the end of their training. You could be training in either Emergency Medicine or Paediatrics or both. You must have completed 12 months of Emergency Medicine (preferably Paediatric), 6 months Paediatric ICU and 6 months of General Paediatrics. The successful applicant will be a member of the senior medical team with senior clinical responsibilities. There will be opportunities to participate in on-going Professional Development at a senior level.
To be considered for this role, you must be eligible for general registration with Medical Council of New Zealand. If you are not currently registered in New Zealand and have overseas medical qualifications, you will be required to provide source verification of your qualifications for your registration application.
