Barfoot & Thompson Storybook Launch

09.12.2008

Barfoot and Thompson today launched their storybook 'Room 22 and Jumbo the Giant Caterpillar' which was designed by the nine to eleven year olds in Room 22 at Colwill School in Massey, West Auckland as part of the first ever Magic of Reading storybook competition.

The class joined with Barfoot & Thompson and Starship Foundation representatives at Butterfly Creek in Mangere to launch the book - an appropriate setting for a story about a giant caterpillar!

The school won the opportunity to have their story published and then worked with renowned children's author John Parker to turn their imaginative idea into a real book.

While the children were working to polish their story idea, Starship Ambassador Keven Mealamu was using his hidden artistic talents to illustrate the book. Keven worked on the illustrations during the 2008 international rugby series in hotel rooms from South Africa to Australia and across New Zealand.

You can now purchase this limited edition book on our events page and also proceeds will go to Starship Foundation.
