Self referrals can be made to teams in Starship such as Palliative Care, Consult Liaison. and the Community Child Health and Disabilty Service.
Self referrals to Starship Consultants cannot be accepted. Families need to be referred to a Starship Consultant by a General Practitioner. The General Practitioner will send a referral to Starship and this will be acknowledged to families shortly after receipt. Families will be contacted by mail when an appointment has been scheduled.
After receiving the letter, families should confirm their appointment by phone: (64 9) 638 0400 or 0800 PATIENT (0800 728 436). Three days before the appointment families should receive a reminder call.
